Through our Citizenship Engagement Programme, we hosted a community dialogue on ill-discipline in schools. During the engagement, chess emerged as a practical and sustainable solution to help foster discipline, strategic thinking, and positive social interaction among learners.
This led to the establishment and launch of the Chess for Change programme. To support the initiative, we sponsored chess sets for two libraries in Piketberg, creating accessible spaces for learners and community members to participate in the game and benefit from its educational and social value.
